Dr Andras Forster

Post-Endodontic Restorations with Modern Fibre-Reinforced Techniques.

presented by:
DR ANDRAS FORSTER

Dr Andras Forster returns to The Hybrid Layer to share his pioneering research and clinical expertise. Moving beyond traditional metal and fibre posts, this lecture challenges outdated techniques and introduces innovative strategies designed not just to retain restorations but to truly strengthen endodontically treated teeth. Dr Forster presents a biomechanical framework for restoring structural integrity, demonstrating how materials like short fibre-reinforced composites and polyethylene fibres can create predictable, adhesive, and biomimetic restorations. Tracing the evolution of endo-restorative concepts, he shares insights from years of research and clinical experience, culminating in the development of the BioBlock 2.0 technique. With a focus on pre-endodontic procedures, polymerisation stress control, and optimal adhesion, this lecture is essential for clinicians at all levels—providing a strong foundation for beginners while offering new insights and refinements for experienced biomimetic practitioners.

Aims & Objectives:

1) Understand the biomechanical challenges of endodontically treated teeth and why conventional post techniques often lead to failure.
2) Learn the rationale behind immediate pre-endodontic dentine sealing (IPDS) and deep margin elevation (DME) to optimise adhesion and longevity.
3) Explore the DLFRC (Direct Layered Fibre-Reinforced Composite Post) technique, the BioBlock, and finally learn how to clinically apply the innovative BioBlock 2.0 approach.
4) Gain insight into step-by-step protocols for modern post-endodontic restorations, ensuring a biomimetic and minimally invasive outcome.
