The second lecture in Dr Amir Ghanem’s indirect bonded restorations series is devoted to building the biobase. He begins with air-particle abrasion, explaining why the goal is to compact and modify the smear layer rather than remove it, and reviews the evidence on powder, water, distance, pressure, angulation and duration. Dr Ghanem then covers deep margin isolation techniques, before detailing immediate dentin sealing with gold-standard adhesives and deep margin elevation. The lecture closes with fibre reinforcement, comparing Ribbond, everX and ThinkX and showing how fibres increase the chance of a failure being restorable.
