PTFE Isolation in Biomimetic Restorative Dentistry.
presented by:
Dr Takeshi Tsuruta
Dr Takeshi Tsuruta presents an innovative approach to isolation in biomimetic restorative dentistry. Incorporating the Japanese principle of “Kaizen”—continuous improvement—he gives us a unique insight into his clinical workflows. This lecture explores the use of polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) to enhance rubber dam isolation, enable effective relative isolation, and introduce a new “PTFE absolute isolation” technique. Dr Tsuruta explains PTFE’s unique properties and adaptability for various restorative procedures. Through step-by-step protocols and clinical case examples, you will learn how to improve adhesive techniques and achieve more predictable restorative outcomes.
Aims & Objectives:
1) Understand the fundamental properties of PTFE and its advantages over traditional isolation methods in biomimetic restorative dentistry.
2) Learn techniques for integrating PTFE into rubber dam isolation, split-dam techniques, and alternative isolation strategies.
3) Explore the clinical situations in which PTFE can be used to improve efficiency and clinical outcomes.
4) Gain practical knowledge of the “PTFE absolute isolation” technique and its application in cementation procedures, including biologically oriented preparation techniques (BOPT).
