Morphology Analysis and Aesthetic Modelling of Posterior Composites.
presented by:
Dr Sornsiri Phoochitpakorn
Dr Sornsiri is a dentist from Thailand who has an incredible talent for composite artistry. He has built a worldwide following of dentists who are continually amazed by his intricate attention to detail. Dr Sornsiri has recorded this 1 hour 45 minute presentation exclusively for members of The Hybrid Layer, where he generously and comprehensively reveals, step-by-step, how he achieves life-like results using composite resin in the posterior region.
This presentation consists of 65 minutes of theory, followed by a 40 minute step-by-step benchtop composite modelling video demonstration.
Aims & Objectives:
1) Gain an insight into the advantages of providing occlusal anatomy, in relation to occlusal stability, axial loading, and minimising unwanted forces in function.
2) Understand the role of grooves and ridges and use this knowledge during composite placement and modelling.
3) Learn how to use specific landmarks to mark the central fossa and subsequently draw the “essential lines”.
4) Understand the instrumentation/armamentarium used by Dr Sornsiri, and his reasoning for each selection.
5) Learn how to reduce the need for occlusal adjustment and understand the intensity and location of occlusal contacts, both in pre-operative and post-operative checks.
6) Watch how Dr Sornsiri restores an occlusal cavity in an upper first molar and lower first molar, with a step-by-step benchtop video demonstration showing all composite layers and instruments used.
